Apple Valley Citizen Corps

In May 2003, the Town Council of the Town of Apple Valley approved the creation of an Apple Valley Citizen Corps Council in response to the recommendations of President Bush and the Department of Homeland Security. The objective is to encourage the community to be self-reliant during a disaster, and to help others in need. The Citizen Corps Council (as the Apple Valley Disaster Council) meets quarterly to report on local disaster preparedness efforts, as well as to measure the affects of the Apple Valley Citizen Corps programs C.E.R.T., Citizens on Patrol, and Neighborhood Watch.
