Eating some hot dogs, learning how to prepare for a disaster, and getting your blood pressure checked were just a few of the many activities at the recent Grand Opening of Solera Fire Station #337. Located in the Jess Ranch area of Apple Valley, the station's opening was attended by over 2,000 residents. The event included health education information and screenings, as well as information about disaster preparedness by the Apple Valley Disaster Service Worker volunteers. Kids lined up to get a ride on a real fire engine while the adults enjoyed touring the new station. And, ALL were in agreement that our cooks served up the best hot dogs!

A big thank you to all who joined the celebration, and especially to those who sponsored the event: Pulte Homes-Del Webb, St. Mary Medical Center, Wal-Mart, Zoll, Medtronics and American Medical Response. Thank you!
