HEALTH FAIR 2008

The Health Fair 2008 event sponsored by Apple Valley Fire Protection District (AVFPD), Wal-Mart, Sun City/Del Webb, and St. Mary Medical Center was very successful. The Health Fair was held at Fire Station 337 in Apple ValleySaturday, 10/11/2008.

The AVFPD Honor Guard posted the colors at 10:00 a.m. The musical group Swing 4 Sale performed live and Apple Valley Firefighters cooked up a free hot dog lunch.

A variety of free information was available on the topics of optometry, dentistry, cardiac rehab, physical therapy, low cost prescriptions, diabetes health/nutrition, and massage therapy. Free screenings were available for bone density, hearing, blood pressure, and fitness; and attendees were able to exchange a full Sharps container for a new container. Additionally, St. Mary Medical Center provided $5 flu shots on site.

For the kids there were fire engine rides, balloons, and other goodies. If you didn't attend, you missed a good time. We hope to see you next year!
