AVFD and Ontario Fire Dept are the only two agencies in San Bernardino County whose paramedics transmit 12-lead EKG data to hospitals and trauma centers.
AVFD has saved more than $57 million in property from being destroyed by fire in the last five years.
AVFD developed a partnership with Victor Valley Community College to bring a $25 million public safety training facility to our Town.
AVFD is the only fire agency in the High Desert to use mobile data in their fire engines to aid response times.

AVFD is responsible for emergency services for a 206 square mile area – an area almost THREE TIMES LARGER than the Town of Apple Valley.
AVFD responds to over 8,400 emergencies annually.
AVFD employs 80 people and most of them (84%) live right here in Apple Valley.
AVFD has invested over $250,000 to improve emergency communications.
AVFD delivers low cost CPR and First Aid classes to about 500 citizens each year.
AVFD Board of Directors save the tax payers’ money by not accepting their stipend.
AVFD sponsors and participates in many community outreach programs such as ‘On Fire for Literacy’ Senior Blood Pressure Clinics, Health Fairs and Disaster Preparedness Fairs, Relay for Life and other charitable events.
AVFD partners with the Town of Apple Valley to provide award winning disaster response training.
AVFD was instrumental in bringing a second Air Ambulance to our region.
