WATER SAFETY

25 June 2009
SIX WAYS TO KEEP YOUR FAMILY SAFE
ALWAYS watch your children around water and never be distracted by phone calls, doorbells, or chores.
Be sure all doors leading to the pool area are locked (including pet doors) and install alarms on all doors lading to the pool area.
When jumping into the pool, jump feet first.
Do not consider young children to be drown proof because they have had swimming lessons.
Keep rescue equipment by the pool: ring buoy, reaching pole, and phone.
Learn CPR. Contact Apple Valley Fire Protection District at (760)247-7618 for information on classes.
