Statistics Indicate Top Dog Performance in 2005

The lights are glowing and the sirens are blaring again and again and again ... over 7,900 times in 2005! The year ending statistics indicate that the men and women of the Apple Valley Fire District were busier than ever:

* Medical Calls: 5,578

* Traffic Collisions: 634

* Fires-All Types: 826

* Fire Investigations: 195

* Facility Inspections Conducted: 1,948

* Fire Hydrants Inspected: 2,252

* Development Plans Processed: 779

* Attendance at Public Education Programs: 8,800+

* Attendance at CPR/First Aid Courses: 699

Calls for service were nearly equal among the four 24-hour fire stations in Apple Valley. Firefighters were able to keep fire loss at a low $1.5 million while the potential fire loss was estimated at $11 million.

Throughout the district, "top dog" performance was the norm in 2005. Let's all have a safe 2006!
