Inland Empire Explorers Recognize Local Advisor

Lt. Kevin Phillips receives a proclamation from the Apple Valley Fire District Board of Directors and Fire Chief Qualls.

It's been 14 years since Lt. Kevin Phillips first started working as an advisor and mentor to local Fire Explorer Post #257. Since then, he has taken over the reigns and developed a program that nurtures and fosters hundreds of young people interested in the fire service. Because of volunteering countless hours and contributing in the spirit of community service, Lt. Phillips was recently awarded the Medal of Merit by the Inland Empire Explorers.

"The Explorer Program relies on the commitment and selfless contributions of Lt. Phillips" said Fire Chief Doug Qualls. The Board of Directors and Chief Qualls also recognized Lt. Phillips' work with a proclamation.
