Engineers, firefighters, and maintenance personnel learned from the best when the Waterous Mobile Demonstration Unit made a recent stop in Apple Valley. Hands-on training ranged from operation and maintenance of fire pumps to pressure control systems to intake/discharge valves and priming systems. Suppression personnel also learned the newest technology pertaining to drip rates and manual overrides.
According to Captain Larry Davis, "The training provided an engineer the opportunity to learn how to troubleshoot pump problems from the interior of the pump as well as the exterior." Fire District personnel all agreed the training was first-rate.
The top of the line mobile demonstration unit contains three cutaway centrifugal fire pumps showing the internal construction for each. The Minnesota company is a world leader and manufacturer of fire pumps and accessories for the fire service industry.
