Hazardous Materials Team

As members of the San Bernardino County Hazardous Materials Team, our members respond to incidents involving hazardous materials within the fire district and may also assist outside agencies if requested. All Hazmat Team members are certified to the specialist level allowing them to identify the hazardous material, participate in Level A entries (fully encapsulated suits) and assist with any measures necessary in order to mitigate the hazard, with the exception of disposal. Common hazards the team may encounter are fuel spills and the illegal dumping of unknown products.
